Out of a desire for missions and to see unsaved people one to Christ, Richard and Jewel Showalter, Linden and Charlene Good and other students from Rosedale Bible College began knocking on the doors of their neighbors in Mechanicsburg, building meaningful relationships and leading people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. As more individuals came to faith and desired discipleship, it became apparent that a church was being birthed. They first met as a church on November 19, 1978.
The church first met in the home of Linden and Charlene Good at 120 N. Main Street, then at 127 N. Main Street which was purchased solely for the church. God continued to bless the church with growth, and by 1985 it became apparent that the facility was not adequate for the growth it was experiencing. In 1986, the church purchased the nineteen-acre tract of land that it currently sits on. A sanctuary was constructed, and by the late 90’s, multiple services were utilized to accommodate the rapid growth. Additional building occurred, and in June of 2002 the church moved into the current sanctuary.
Richard Showalter was MCF’s first pastor. In 1982, he and his family left Mechanicsburg to begin mission work in Turkey. Upon his departure, Linden Good began serving as pastor and served in that role until October 2017. Joey Brown currently serves as Senior Pastor and leads the church alongside elders, Bob Rabenstein, Eric Miller and Jonathon Pack.
MCF’s mission is and has always been helping people understand the depths of God’s grace and accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord. We would love for you and your family to be part of our history!
